Our Vision: Empowering Versatile Scholars to Transform Communities

At Versademics, we envision a future where every scholar is equipped — academically, emotionally, and spiritually — to change the world around them. We believe that children are not just students in need of support, but leaders in training, capable of solving problems, lifting others, and transforming their communities from the inside out.

Our programs are built to nurture what we call versatile scholars — students who can think critically, serve compassionately, and adapt confidently to any challenge. Whether through our Science of Reading-based literacy curriculum, our gamified math fluency approach, or our character-building service projects, every lesson is designed to develop academic fluency, leadership, and purpose.

We don’t just want our students to succeed in the classroom. We want them to walk into their neighborhoods, their churches, and their future workplaces with the tools to bring light, equity, and excellence into every space they enter.

From tutoring to summer camp to afterschool mentoring, we use each moment to reinforce this mission: that our children are not liabilities to manage, but solutions waiting to emerge. When we build up versatile scholars, we don’t just change individual lives — we lay the foundation for stronger families, stronger schools, and stronger communities for generations to come.

Our literacy program

At Versademics, we believe that literacy is a gateway to opportunity — and that every child deserves the chance to become a confident, capable reader. Our literacy program is built on the Science of Reading, a research-based framework that guides how children learn to read most effectively.

We use the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) curriculum to bring that science to life in our classrooms. This structured, sequential curriculum is designed to help young readers — especially those in kindergarten through second grade — develop strong foundational reading skills. UFLI’s lessons are explicit, systematic, and engaging, ensuring that every child has the support they need to move from sounding out words to truly understanding what they read.

Our scholars receive targeted instruction in five core areas of literacy:

  • Phonemic Awareness – understanding and manipulating sounds in spoken words

  • Phonics – connecting those sounds to written letters

  • Fluency – reading with accuracy, speed, and expression

  • Vocabulary – learning and using a wide range of words

  • Comprehension – understanding and interpreting meaning from text

By focusing on these components, we help students not only decode words, but also develop the skills to engage meaningfully with books and ideas. Our lessons are taught in small groups, allowing for individualized feedback, real-time data collection, and scaffolded support.

The impact has been extraordinary.

In just one semester, our scholars have increased their average reading accuracy from 54% to 94%, and their words per minute have more than doubled — from 20.4 to 50.3 WPM. More importantly, our students are beginning to see themselves as readers. Their confidence is rising. Their love of learning is growing.

But our literacy program goes beyond just academic instruction. It’s rooted in dignity, equity, and belief — belief that every child can learn, and that the ability to read is not a privilege, but a right. Many of the children we serve come from communities where high-quality reading support is difficult to access. We are working to change that — one student, one breakthrough, one book at a time.

Whether a student is just learning their letter sounds or beginning to read full paragraphs with expression and understanding, we meet them where they are — and help them grow.

At Versademics, we don’t just teach reading.
We unlock potential through literacy.
